Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 reconnu comme institut s\u00e9culier de droit pontifical en 1987. Ses membres sont des pr\u00eatres, des hommes c\u00e9libataires et des couples mari\u00e9s qui tendent \u00e0 la perfection chr\u00e9tienne par la pratique de la pauvret\u00e9, de la chastet\u00e9 et de l\u2019ob\u00e9issance et tentent de travailler au service de l\u2019\u00c9glise en demeurant dans leur milieu de vie et en continuant d\u2019exercer leurs occupations et leur profession. Ils ne vivent pas en communaut\u00e9 comme les religieux\/religieuses mais ils participent \u00e0 la vie d\u2019\u00e9quipe. Ils tendent \u00e0 la saintet\u00e9 personnelle en vivant le charisme de l\u2019Institut et la spiritualit\u00e9 des 5-5-5 au milieu du monde comme sel, lumi\u00e8re et levain dans la p\u00e2te sur la base du message \u00e9vang\u00e9lique et de la justice sociale.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span size=\"3\" face=\"Verdana\" style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Directeurs<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"Default\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span size=\"2\" face=\"Verdana\">\u00c0 la diff\u00e9rence des congr\u00e9gations religieuses, les noms administratifs et les noms qui sont utilis\u00e9s pour la formation dans les instituts s\u00e9culiers sont de nature s\u00e9culi\u00e8re. Ainsi, le sup\u00e9rieur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral d\u2019un institut s\u00e9culier est appel\u00e9 directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral. Il en est ainsi pour l\u2019Institut Voluntas Dei. Le premier directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de l\u2019Institut fut\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.voluntasdei.org\/le-fondateur-ivd\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong><span color=\"#0000ff\">son fondateur<\/span><\/strong><\/a>. Le p\u00e8re Louis-Marie Parent a servi \u00e0 ce titre de 1958 \u00e0 1970. Apr\u00e8s lui, la direction de l\u2019Institut a \u00e9t\u00e9 assur\u00e9e par les abb\u00e9s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.voluntasdei.org\/rene-desilets\/\"><span color=\"#0000ff\"><strong>Ren\u00e9 D\u00e9silets<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0(1970-1980),\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.voluntasdei.org\/mario-laroche\/\"><strong><span color=\"#0000ff\">Mario Laroche<\/span><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0(1980-1992),\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.voluntasdei.org\/yvon-carpentier\/\"><strong><span color=\"#0000ff\">Yvon Carpentier<\/span><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0(1992-1998) et\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.voluntasdei.org\/francois-hamel\/\"><strong><span color=\"#0000ff\">Fran\u00e7ois Hamel<\/span><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0(1998-2010).<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span size=\"2\" face=\"Verdana\">L\u2019abb\u00e9\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.voluntasdei.org\/s-james-dunstan\/\"><strong><span color=\"#0000ff\">Selvaratnam James Dunstan<\/span><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9lu directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral lors de la derni\u00e8re assembl\u00e9e g\u00e9n\u00e9rale qui a eu lieu en juin 2010. \u00c0 ce titre, il est le premier \u00e9lu en provenance de l\u2019ext\u00e9rieur du Canada. Il est Sri Lankais. Il a joint l\u2019Institut en 1986. Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 ordonn\u00e9 pr\u00eatre pour l\u2019Institut le 25 juillet 1997.
